From the PTO...

✷ On Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. the Burlington Recreation Department is having a Youth and Human Services Day, which is dedicated to Burlington’s many landmarks and learning about different groups, organizations, and services the town of Burlington has to offer.


In the morning, the Burlington Youth Soccer Association will be at the Marshall Simonds Middle School with activities such as, a Q and A table, juggling, dribbling, goalkeeping and games. This event is from 10 a.m. to noon.  


The Friends of the Landlocked Forest will be having guided tours of the Landlocked Forest as well as guided mountain biking. You can choose one or the other.


For this specific event you’ll need to meet at the Rec. Dept. at 10:30 a.m. to caravan over to the forest or meet over at Turning Mill parking lot at 43 Turning Mill Rd. at 10:45 a.m. 


From 12 to 2 p.m. there will be outdoor activities at Simonds Park provided by a number of organizations including The Army National Guard, Mother to Mother, The Girl Scouts of Burlington, Creative Start Children’s Centers, the Burlington Softball and Baseball Association, and the Burlington players.


Finally from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. take a guided tour through Mary Cummings Park which boasts a variety of different landscape types, including forests, fields and wetlands.


Everyone in town is welcomed to come to the event.There is no registration necessary and the event is also free.
