From the PTO....

BOX TOPS Summer Contest

Please continue to clip and save Box Tops this summer! We are having another "Saving all Summer" contest. The top two families who collect the most Box Tops over the summer will win prizes! All you have to do is collect Box Tops in a ziploc bag this summer. Send the bag into school with your child, labeled with your first and last name and you could win! Box Tops are a great way to raise money for our school. This year the PTO was able to purchase new basketball hoops, soccer nets, and other playground equipment with the money the students raised. The students were able to raise an incredible amount of $2,705! Please consider participating in the contest, no amount is too small.

Protect the Popsicle

Last week Mr. Musselman was back at Francis Wyman to do another experiment with us. We worked in our groups to create structures that would provide shade and protect a popsicle on a hot day. It was a lot of fun seeing which structures would work better than the others.

Community Helpers

We have been very lucky over the last few weeks of school to have a couple of different community helpers come into our classroom to talk to us about their jobs and why they are important for our community.

Hopefully we will have a few more before school gets out!

Joey's mom came in to talk to us about her job as a dental hygienist and why it is important to take care of our teeth.

Ms, Amanda from the Burlington Public Library came in to talk to us about the Summer Reading program they are doing.

Mrs. Cicolini and Scooter, a Burlington Public Schools service dog, came in and talked to us about Scooter and how he is very special and helps kids when they might be too stressed or need a break.

Thank you to all who have come in to talk to us about your different jobs in our community.

Swan Boats

We had a wonderful time last week in Boston walking the route of Mr. and Mrs. Mallard.
We had a great ride on the Swan Boats.

Thank you so much to Mrs. Andrews, Ms. Bagni, Mr. Mitchell, and Ms. Sorenson for coming with us!
